Join James Beard Award Winning Chefs John Besh and Marcus Samuelsson as they honor New Orleans Chef Leah Chase at the elegant August Restaurant. This exclusive event will feature a four course dinner with Chef Besh and Chef Samuelsson displaying their diverse culinary palettes with alternating courses.
Hailed as the Queen of Creole Cuisine, Leah Chase’s restaurant Dooky Chase served as a hub for Civil Rights marchers in the 1960s and has long been known for preserving African American history and art. Heads of state have dined at her tables and the restaurant’s legendary stature garnered a reference in the 2012 revival of Tennessse Williams’ play A Streetcar Named Desire.
The four course menu is $200 (tax and gratuity inclusive) complete with wine pairings and a signed copy of Yes, Chef. Chef Samuelsson will be signing on site from 6:00-7:00 pm and mingle with dinner guests. Don’t miss this intimate event with three of the most internationally renowned chefs in an exquisite venue.
